After watching all 6 Star Wars in a weekend
I'm traditionally a much bigger fan of Star Trek than Star Wars, but the marathon gave me some interesting insights into the difference between the two franchises. Mainly, Star Wars takes science and "future" things like multiple species entirely for granted. You just accept things and stop questioning how they work, enabling you to focus on their implications rather than their history. Star Trek, on the other hand, tries to explain almost everything - resulting in people questioning the things you don't explain.
There are merits to both camps - it's interesting to think that there's no right answer when it comes to how to do SciFi
